I saw
this crawl on the CNN ticker while I was watching the Atlantis launch this morning. I don't see anything in the diaries, so I'll bring it to our attention.
Fifty-seven percent of the respondents said they think it would be good for the country "if the Democrats in Congress were able to conduct official investigations into what the Bush administration has done in the past six years." Forty-one percent said such probes would be bad for the country. Half of the sample was asked this question, also.
The next question in the article is sort of at odds with this one, but interesting none-the-less.
...69 percent said Bush should not be impeached or removed from office, with 30 percent saying he should be impeached or removed from office. One percent had no opinion. A total of 1,004 adults was asked the questions about impeachment.
So, the general public wants the Administration investigated, but don't want Bush impeached. I think that would mean they prefer public and political humiliation, which I'm perfectly happy to live with.
Sorry for the short diary, but I thought this was worth getting out there this morning.
