Let me stir the pot a bit.
I am the only one who thinks that all the attention we are paying PT/911 is actually going to increase the number of viewers of the show? And how different is what we doing right now compared to what conservatives have done for years concerning the "liberal media".
Certainly you can remember the AFA (American Family Association) boycott of Disney back in the mid-1990s because of Disney's trip away from traditional family values. I remember seeing bumper stickers calling for the boycott thinking it was ludicrous. But according to the article here, it worked.
Then there was the all-important James Dobson getting angry about
Sponge Bob, though he swears it wasn't about Sponge Bob at all but about education and our traditional family values being attacked.
After all PT/911 is essentially about entertainment. Perhaps the more we shrug it off, the better. What if we all turned on our TVs during the show to any other program on the dial and actually bought a product the next week advertised on that show? The Network would get the message that they missed out on money and we'd make a point without drawing more attention to the show than it deserves.
Your thoughts?
