Had dinner with a friend tonight who will probably vote for Lieberman. The only things that might make a difference is if Lieberman is elected and can't help Democrats because he is elected as an independent.
So here are the questions for which I need your expertise:
1. If Lieberman wins as an independent, and opts to caucus as a Democrat, does he count toward determining whether the Democrats control the Senate?
and
2. Assuming that the Democrats win control of the Senate, if Lieberman is elected as an independent, will he be eligible to be appointed chairperson of a committee?
