The
CrashingTheStates Project begins in a few short days, and there are exciting developments and events falling into place! Aside from our incredible
twenty netroots candidates who we will be meeting along the campaign trail, several big names have also agreed to take part. Exact times are still being worked out, but
Reality Bites Back and
Hekebolos will be meeting
Russ Feingold, Harry Reid, John Conyers, John Kerry, Louise Slaughter, and
Brad Miller among others. Some of the Bloggers we have lined up include Kos, Jerome Armstrong, Chris Bowers, Joe Trippi and a slew of local bloggers you will hear more about as this project unfolds. And it's not too late -
YOU can still be a part of this!!!
But you have to keep reading...
(oh, and please consider throwing a recommend to support the guys and get this info up in front of the masses - it would be a BIG help as we get underway)
At each campaign stop, we are setting aside a night to meet with local bloggers. I have a couple set up so far, but I'm looking for both participants AND, more importantly, people willing to host a blogger get-together. If you live in the districts we are visiting, WE WANNA SIGN YOU UP!
Register now, and let me know that you want to blog. I'll email you back ASAP!
We are aiming to start these shindigs around 8PM, and have these dates set up as targets:
Larry Kissell: NC-08: Sept. 14
Jim Webb: VA: Sept. 16
Joe Sestak: PA-07: Sept. 22
Patrick Murphy: PA-08: Sept. 23
Linda Stender: NJ-07: Sept. 24
Brian Keeler: NY-State 41: Sept. 27
Ned Lamont: CT: Sept. 28
Paul Hodes: NH-02: Oct. 1
Eric Massa: NY-29: Oct. 3
Barry Welsh: IN-06: Oct. 5

Jack Carter: NV: Oct. 28
Francine Busby: CA-50: Oct. 30
We are working toward having the candidates themselves take part wherever possible, and a couple have already enthusiastically agreed. As with most campaign related events, these may be subject to change. The candidates tend to change their schedules about every 10 minutes, and we plan on following them along no matter what. That way we can bring you the dynamic aspects of an ongoing campaign live and in person. We'll be getting any changes put up as soon as we learn of them.
There are still a few gaps left for anyone who is willing to volunteer lodging, especially in Connecticut, Chicago, Colorado, and the Bay Area. However, if you live in any of these districts and are willing to have the CrashingTheStates Kossacks crashing on your floor as they are busily crashing the gates, let me know! Back up plans are nice to have in advance...
I hope that each and every one of you is planning to keep up with the daily updates during this Netroots Project. Your input will make CrashingTheStates a road trip to always remember!
