Click on the video that has a red title "The Mess in Iraq."
This spot is based on the idea that we have to clean up the Rebumblican messes with both Katrina and Iraq. The theme of this set of spots is "Make it Right."
I've written before about appropriating the language of the right wing in the fight for the middle-right-of-center voters, much as they appropriated ours in "compassionate conservative."
I am particularly concerned to reach love-and-service Christians, so I am speaking to them in the morally obsessive (ok, deranged) language that they seem to respond to.
At the same time, the message is hopeful -- that we can make it right. the music is gently evocative of the 60s anti-war movement, although it is completely contemporary -- actually from a hiphop track.
