I fully realize that 25 hours a day the Bush folks are either dellusional, lying, or both, so it comes as no surprise that we get the same old shit from Bush on TV last night about how we're on a strong course to prevail in Iraq, contrary to all reliable assessments. But when foxnews.com leads with the story that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
rolls out the red carpet for Iraqi PM Nouri Al-Maliki as the two nations seek closer ties, even short of civil war concerns, how the fuck can they spin the nature of the government we've propped up in Iraq as our ally in the WoT when Iran openly calls for the annihilation of Israel!?
Especially when, more directly related to our occupation of Iraq and the basic needs for security this is the dynamic:
U.S. officials have accused Iran of not doing enough to stop militants from infiltrating across the shared, 1,000 mile-long porous border, but Iraqi officials have said there was no evidence to prove such charges.
So let's get this straight. The Bush Administration spreads their vision of democracy in the middle east through unilateral military force, resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of people. Hamas and Hezbollah become institutionalized, The Lebanese and Syrian governments are sympathetic to Iran, we transform Iraq from an impotent, secular state to a fundamentalist theocracy that joins the anti-Israeli, anti-Western chorus, and the United States is a safer place to live? The middle east is better off than it was 3 years ago? I don't see how anyone can spin this anymore.
