JUMP!
Wisconsin has eight Congressional districts of which four are held by each party
WI-1 - This is the southeastern portion of the state including Kenosha and Racine. The incumbent, reddie Paul Ryan won this district with 65% of the vote, although Kerry had a good run here with 46%. Our guy Dr. Jeff Thomas, was the President of the Janesville School Board, served on the City Council and is the current Director of the Well Stone Free Clinic. He's lost to Ryan before, he'll lose to Ryan again.
WI-1: Safe Red.
WI-2 - The South-central portion of the state including the very blue Madison. Tammy Baldwin won this district with 63% last time. I'll be surprised if her challenger can keep her to that this year.
WI-2: Safe Blue.
WI-3 - The Western portion of the state, including Eau Claire and La Crosse. Ron Kind won this district with 56% last time. I find it funny that with the two biggest cities in the district having French names, the opponent, on his home page, in the very first sentence, attacks the French. Kinda surreal.
WI-3: Safe Blue.
WI-4 - The beautiful city of Milwaukee. Really. Go there. Gwen Moore won this district with 70% last time. Her opponent hasn't raised any money to speak of, and baaaaarely got enough signatures to be on the ballot. Nothing to see here. Move along.
WI-4: Safe Blue.
WI-5 The incumbent, reddie F James Sensenbrenner won this seat with 67%. I've been supporting our guy Bryan Kennedy since the beginning. He's a professor and a member of the Union. And someone's gotta beat Sensenbrenner. And Kennedy might just do it. About a month ago, he was within 8. Sensenbrenner has an obscene amount of cash on hand, but his constituents know him. This might just be a race. I hope it is.
WI-5: Here's hoping!
WI-6 - The East-Central portion of the state, including Sheboygan and Fond du Lac. The incumbent, reddie Tom Petri won this district with 67%. Our guy John Curry is being compared to Paul Wellstone and Russ Feingold. Unfortunately, I can't get to his website, and there's some confusion as to whether he'll be on the ballot in November. Anybody here know?
WI-6: If Curry's not on the ballot, this is the safest Red district in the state!
WI-7 Northwest corner of the state, including Wausau. David Obey has been in Congress since 1969. He's a liberal giant, and the reddies are thinking that gay marriage will take him down. I just can't see that happening.
WI-7: Safe Blue!
WI-8 The incumbent, Mark Green, is stepping down to run for governor. Steve Kagen is our guy, and it looks like he's a fighter. As of right now, and it's early yet as the primary was yesterday, it looks like Kagen is leading the reddie by 10. One thing's for sure... this race is going to have all sorts of money throw at it.
WI-8: This one's gonna be ours.
