In about a half hour, the polls will close in Washington State, and returns will begin coming in shortly thereafer.
I'm posting this diary to give Washington Kossacks and any other Kossacks a thread to discuss local election results. News from the east coast often dominates here at DailyKos(especially the Webb/Allen race or the Lieberman/Lamont race), but we have our own contests to think about. Especially the judicial ones.
You may remember me as the Kossack who posted all those LIVE trial diaries last year during the gubernatorial election challenge (a lawsuit filed by the WA GOP hoping to invalidate the election of Christine Gregoire. It failed).
My friends at NPI are very busy preparing for LIVE elections coverage and analysis at Pacific Northwest Portal, which you can access using the link button below.
If you click the button you can see an overview of the hottest races, all laid out neatly on one page.
I'll be posting sporadic updates here as well (below the fold), but please feel free to start your own conversations in this thread.
Be cautioned that King County, the state's largest, will be a little slow getting results up tonight. KC Elections says:
Note: Poll results are expected to come in later this year. With new, accessible voting units, closing the polls will take longer. In addition, new requirements mean the county will not modem results from King County's 508 polling places. Instead, poll results will be manually uploaded beginning around 10 p.m. and continue until 98-to-100 percent of polling places are reported online.
King County results are not official until the election has been certified.
