Yes, "Jewish Kossacks" does sound funny, considering how much our ancestors were terrorized by Cossacks. Anyway, Friday night, September 22, is the beginning of the Jewish New Year, so I wanted to wish everyone all the best by means of
the animated musical video that I created and posted on YouTube.
I'll explain a little about the video below the fold.
I have been writing and performing satirical songs with Jewish themes for several years, using the nom de mishigas Billy Ray Sheet. The song that became this video,
"Bad Attitude on Yom Kippur," is meant to poke fun at (and simultaneously sympathize with) people who have trouble getting through a day-long synagogue service and fast, and who may also not fully understand why they are there.
After being up for three weeks, the video has received over 25,000 hits, so I'm already planning my next one.
Enjoy! and l'shanah tovah! May this new year bring us a responsive, responsible, and ethical government.
UPDATE: Here's something one of the comments reminded me to do. L'shanah tovah, George Allen. Welcome to the tribe! And may we lose two Jewish senators in November.
