Yesterday, the Associated Press picked up the story about Rep. Jean Schmidt circulating an editorial under her name that was actually lifted straight from a July press release by Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (and before that, from an internal Republican Party sample op-ed).
As the AP reported, "There were about 600 words in the editorial submitted by Pryce. Fewer than 50 words were added or changed in the first six paragraphs of the editorial published under Schmidt's name."
Still, no words can convey Schmidt's laziness quite like seeing the articles compared. Click here to open a PDF of:
- The press release from Deborah Pryce's website.
- A copy of Schmidt's op-ed from the Pike County News Watchman.

It's a stunning visual aid for a stunning act of deception by
Xerox Jean. Talk about a Republican rubber stamp!
