I, like many others have been deeply amused by President Bush's unique use of the English language. His comical errors can be on websites like youtube.com and crooks and liars.com. There are phrases that have been coined to describe this new language that Mr. Bush is good at. "Bushspeak" or "Bushisms," take your pick.
Some of his "Bushisms" aren't as hilarious as some might be, but show the arrogance and apathy of this man.
When the insurgency in Iraq was reaching it's boiling point, Mr. Bush, declared "Bring 'em on." A phrase that is normally used in the faux world of Professional wrestling.
During the Hurricane Katrina debacle, Mr. Bush stood next to his disgraced Fema Chief Michael Brown and said to him as the country looked on, "Brownie, you're doin' a heckva job." We all to that conclusion that the President was so out of touch and so clueless to the situation that he made his father, a former President, look like a man of the people, and he was equally as out of touch with the country.
Americans have realized that when the President speaks, his comedic persona disappears and what lies underneath is a werewolf, void of conscience.
While much of the country has turned its attention to President Clinton's verbal smackdown of Chris Wallace on Fox news, our current commander-in-chief made headlines when a NIE report declared that his war with Iraq has spawned more terrorists and has put this country at greater risk.
We all knew that, it's nothing new.
But, then he reached a new low, even for him during an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
BLITZER: Let's move on and talk a little bit about Iraq. Because this is a huge, huge issue, as you know, for the American public, a lot of concern that perhaps they are on the verge of a civil war-if not already a civil war-We see these horrible bodies showing up, tortured, mutilation. The Shia and the Sunni, the Iranians apparently having a negative role. Of course, al Qaeda in Iraq is still operating.
BUSH: Yes, you see -- you see it on TV, and that's the power of an enemy that is willing to kill innocent people. But there's also an unbelievable will and resiliency by the Iraqi people.... Admittedly, it seems like a decade ago. I like to tell people when the final history is written on Iraq, it will look like just a comma because there is -- my point is, there's a strong will for democracy. (emphasis added)
Well, there you have. All this tragedy, all this farce, all this destruction, all this tarnishing of our reputation has been reduced to a mere comma.
In 1969, The rock band "the Who" released their rock opera "Tommy," about a deaf, dumb, and blind boy. At the time, Mr. Bush was 23 at the time, and almost 40 years later, the triple threat of deaf, dumb, blind is a perfect illustration of our current President.
Mr. Bush, you're deaf to the truth about the phony war in Iraq. You're dumb enough to believe the crap that the Neo-Cons belch out to you on a daily basis. And, you're blind to the actual problems of this once great nation. Problems that have been accelerated by your incompetence and arrogance.
Yet, you have the nerve, the nerve to reduce diminish the problems you've created in Iraq to just a mere piece of grammar.
How dare you, Mr. President. How dare you urinate on the memory of the brave men and women of the armed force who believed in you. Believed in the notion of spreading freedom and democracy to a people who were brutalized by a dictator who was once an ally of this nation. No matter what political affilation these men and women belonged to, they fought because they took your word at face value and now their job in Iraq is to fight to preserve what's left of your integrity.
A comma?
These men and women who left their homes behind. Their friends, loved ones, and even children, deserve better than just a comma. They deserve a commander-in-chief that doesn't treat members of the military as toy soldiers. They deserve a commander-in-chief who'll live up to his end of the bargain and preserve freedom and democracy at home. They deserve a commander-in-chief who appreciates and understands the sacrifice and will of good, honest Americans who gave up their lives to make their President seem good and honest.
A comma?
Time and time again this administration has painted a rosy picture in Iraq, but the evidence is clear that Iraq is a complete disaster. Mr. Bush, so confident in his place in history, believes that Iraq can pull together and become a symbol for democracy in the Middle East.
A comma?
The families of those who lost loved ones in your pathetic folly deserve more. Like an explanation to why this nation decided to overlook the real monster (Osama Bin Laden) and pick a fight with an arch nemesis. A despot that your Secretary of Defense once shook the hand of.
Mr. President, let me say in great confidence that you're a lucky man. Lucky enough to have 9/11 occur on your watch, for had it not, you just be another lame-duck like your father. Lucky to live in America and not a European country where its people would've demanded a leader like you to resign just by your pathetic performance. And, you're lucky enough to have such brave men and women under your leadership as Commander-in-Chief to fight in a war that they had no business being a part of. Yet, you don't seem to care and that's why not only you haven't gone to not one military funeral, but you've reduced them to just a 'comma'.
So I see it now.
5 years ago when you stood at the World Trade Center site in unity with that NYC Firefighter, you used that opportunity as a photo-op to make yourself feel more important than what you should've been. That moment was just an opportunistic ploy that eventually worked in your favor and what have you shown for it?
A historical failure.
But, in your world it will all just be a comma.
Sadly, we all wish for the days when you could've been just a footnote in American history.
Mr. President you fancy yourself as a followe of Jesus and his teachings.
Jesus wouldn't be proud of your actions and neither is this country.
You have no moral compass.
And, you have no shame.
