Sen. Feingold will be on the Ed Schultz show after the commercial break.
You can listen live right here.
Earlier today Sen. Reid was on and said he did NOT have the votes for a filibuster so one would not happen. Lets hear what Russ has to say.
RF : ... talks about need to refocus on Afghanistan. Introducing a resolution about reinvigorating effort in Afghanistan.. .can not let Afghanistan the way of Iraq.
ES: Why is NATO in charge of US troops in Afghanistan?
RF: As we redeploy troops from Iraq, some may be needed in Afghanistan.
ES: NIE, is there another one? Should it be released?
RF: We should release more of the already released NIE. I can't discuss other NIEs.
...
ES: Habeus question.
RF: I'm afraid they are, by and large (going to get what they want). The whole bill is an outrage, the compromise is an outrage. The idea of getting rid of habeus corpus is an outrage. It's a sad chapter in the history of our country.
ES: Filibuster?
RF: Absolutely. I want a filibuster. You need 41 Senators for a filibuster and Sen. Reid was correct when he said he didn't have that.
I don't know the names who wouldn't do it. We're going to vote in a while for the bill and you can see who is for it and who is against it.
"This bill should not be passing this United States Senate or any Senate in the history of the country. "
