Our founding fathers touted inalienable rights, while owning slaves, not allowing the rights of women or even the rights of those who did not own land.
But they somehow could see clear to the ideals.
Through the years, all of these terrible injustices have occured in America, in her name, by her citizens and politicians.
Still we all can see through to the ideals.
Ideals that America strives for, but so often falls woefully short.
We have a system in which to work, to strive for those ideals. We cannot abandon that system.
This bill that just passed is a travesty.
But it is only One.More.Travesty.
Unfortunately, it is the nature of government that we are observing.
Fortunately, we will reject the assault on these American values.
Fortunately we have each other, and that will change everything.
