Tonight as I was walking from my office to the bus stop (yes, I am trying to do what I can for the environment) I saw a long city block lined with black combat shoes.
On each pair of combat boots was a tag with the name of a man or woman from California who had died in Iraq. The tag contained their name, age, and the city where they lived.

All of those black boots were so syombolic to me. As I walked down this block I paused to read the names and ages of our fallen soldiers. It broke my heart. I had sun glasses on which hid my tears. There were numerous senior citizens standing around holding banners. Horray for for our senior citizens! They have been there and done that and see the truth,
All of those black boots will haunt my dreams tonight.
