I just got back from a Jon Tester fundraiser with General Wesley Clark here in Montana's capital city and the phone rings with a push-poll robo-call from some polling firm in Virginia. I would like the help of the DKos community in tracking down these sleazebags so that we can do some local press on this desparate, but typical behavior of the corrupt repubs. More after the flip.
It was a well attended Tester fundraiser (over a hundred folks) and Wesley Clark was on fire this evening. I fully intended to diary Wes Clark's comments after dinner, but all of a sudden, the phone rings and my plans take a sharp right turn.
Ed in Montana: Hello, this is Ed.
Robocall (Obviously a computer voice): This is Survey 2006 and we would like your views on the Montana Senate race.
Ed in Montana (wondering if this is Survey USA): Ehhh... OK.
Robocall: If the election was held today would you vote for Conrad Burns?
Ed in Montana: No.
Robocall: If the election was held today would you vote for Jon Tester?
Ed in Montana: Yes.
Robocall: Do support the right of parents to choose where to send their children for school?
Ed in Montana, (grimacing at the loaded question): No.
Robocall: If the election was held today would you vote for Conrad Burns knowing that in his 18 years in congress that he has never voted for a tax increase, while Jon Tester supports higher taxes?
Ed in Montana: No.
Robocall: If the election was held today would you vote for Conrad Burns knowing that he supports the Montana law that marriage is between a man and a woman, while Tester does not?
Ed in Montana: No.
Robocall: Thank you for your views. This survey done by Common Sense 2006, Susan Carlson, Treasurer.
Ed in Montana: Fuck you very much.
I hate crap like this, so I'm trying to track these scumbags down and publicize their sleazy behavior in our Montana press.
My caller ID shows S2006 703-961-9120. Google searches yield nothing on the phone number, Common Sense 2006, or Susan Carlson.
An Intellius search shows that S2006 is a business phone-land line via Verizon in Centreville, Virginia, 20121, in Fairfax County.
That's all I have been able to dig out, but I would love some help and I will pass this on to some Montana political reporters for the Sunday papers.
