Okay. We are one pissed off bunch of liberal, progressive, blogosphoids; and for good reason.

But what are you going to fucking do about it, Kos?

Malcolm used to draw a circle around the feet of an angry brother and ask him how he planned to move out of the circle. I'm asking Kossacks today: How are you going to move out of the circle? What's your first step? Literally, what is the first step you are going to take in response to the passage of The Military Commissions Act of 2006?

What is the first step you are taking today to act on your principles and convictions?

I've got a few suggestions:

FUCKING GIVE TIME, KOS!!

Volunteer for a progressive Democrat's campaign. Volunteer for MoveOn's Call for Change virtual phone bank. You can spend every free minute you are in front of a computer calling to identify and motivate fellow Democrats, liberals and progressives to vote in November. MoveOn's online calling tools make this really easy. I live in New York City where my rep, senator and gubenatorial candidate are all going to win in landslides, but through MoveOn I spend 6 hours every week providing technical support to Call for Change volunteers.

Is this your first step?

GIVE FUCKING MONEY, KOS!!

bluerevolt's diary provides a list of all the House and Senate Republicans who voted for torture. For each of them who is running for re-election this cycle, the diarist provides a link to their Democratic challenger's website.

Or you can go to the netroots ActBlue page. I just did that and gave 10 measly bucks to Joe Sestak who's drawn even with Weldon according to the latest polling and to Larry Kissell. How much money can we raise today to drum these torture enablers out of office?

Is this your first step?

GIVE SUGGESTIONS, FUCKING KOS!!

That's what that fucker Kos created comments for. Have at it. Tell me how I can do more.

Let's make torture day be the day that we already highly motivated activists ratchet up to even higher levels our commitment, efforts and passion for our national well-being. We know what's at stake. The wolf has taken off its sheep's clothing.

Is this your first step?

FUCKING MOTIVATE ME TO DO MORE, KOS!!

Tell me what you are going to do to enact your principles and convictions. Show me that others are taking action in the face of this humiliating action by our elected respresentatives. Show your fellow Kossacks, your friends, your neighbors and your acquaintances that you have the courage of your convictions.

Is this your first step?

FUCKING LET ME MOTIVATE YOU, KOS!!

Now is the time for renewed effort, for channelling our anger and our energy to achieve even more this cycle than we could ever have dreamed possible.

Take that first step out of the chalk circle of your righteous indignation. Act for change.

What is the first step you are taking today to act on your principles and convictions?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
