- We produce evidence of Al Qaeda links to FARC, and force one of our allies or the UN to send more soldiers into Columbia. We use the new Homeland Security laws to erect heavily militarized borders to the South, to prevent drug smuggling. Under the curtain of narcoterrorism, the law is used to erode civil liberties at a faster pace.
- The unbelievable happens ... cornered by special forces somewhere in the world for the 8100st time, Bin Ladin asks to sit down and negotiate a settlement. Bush, of course, refuses ... but the UN sends a delegation ... which promptly gets blown to bits in a double-cross. Bin Ladin escapes our forces for the 8100st time.
However, a new terrorist leader becomes the big boogeyman. Could be Zarqawi, or a new guy. He actually proves his chops on the world stage by offering some Al Qaeda dudes for the reward, and then annihilating the contingent that comes for them. These two double-cross scenarios reinflame the smoldering global ideological battle from 2001-2004.
2007: Terrorists make an unsuccessful attempt to attack the White House. Bush uses this to expand the Homeland Security law, making his executive orders free from judicial review. The Congress continues to operate as before, but their actions are subject to judicial review, which is more commonly regressive than not.
Several battlefronts open up worldwide, including Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Kashmir, and Sudan. Surprisingly, Israel and Palestine mainly sit the battle out. Later in the year, it is revealed that the Palestinians have been given certain backdoor assurances, to help keep the Saudis and Iraqis with the U.S. program. Israel is double-crossed by the U.S., and the tables are completely turned. Israel is told to stand down as the Saudis help the Palestinians turn Israel into the Occupied Territories.
Meanwhile, several alliance groups and the UN peacekeepers are double-crossed by the U.S.; the U.S. forces begin to fire upon all comers on the battlefield.
By the time the betrayals are clear as intentional, the former allies are overwhelmed.
America is a shell of its former self, and it grips the rest of the world in its hollow iron fist.
