Thanks to all who stoked the grassroots fire that at least forced the Congressional record to acknowledge widespread problems with our voting system.
Even if we'd wished some to be gutsier, we should encourage the Dems who did stand up to go forth and keep fighting in battles ahead-- with Gonzales for instance.

Read John Nichols of The Nation, and here's our SaraLee's words of encouragement:
We have demonstrated that a grassroots movement of minorities and progressives can mobilize around an issue completely blacked out of the media and move US Senators to act. The reason Barbara Boxer stood tall today, while not even Paul Wellstone would do so four years ago, is that four years ago there was no massive grassroots lobbying effort....There were no hearings and bus rides, telephone and fax campaigns, nothing like what we've seen for the past two months. We also lacked the leadership that Congressman John Conyers has shown, but Conyers will be the first to say he couldn't have done this without a movement behind him.
Thanks is also due to
Michael Moore for giving us a civics lesson in Electoral procedures,
and daring us to speak out.
