Today's the third full day since the GOP rolled out the "Retreat & Defeat" video showing Dean, Pelosi and Kerry whining about how we can't win in Iraq while our troops and the enemy watch. It's working too. The MSM keeps referring to it while talking up Democratic inability to come to grips with the war.
Meanwhile the President continues with his media plan with a speech in Philadelphia (It's all about Founding Fathers and Freedom - get it?) just before the latest round of elections in Iraq. It just shows how out of touch the Dems are - Freedom is on the March and all they can do is try to make us lose the War on Terror.
How long is it going to take before the Democrats come back with a response to this?
(More below the fold)
I would love to think that somewhere within the huge Left-wing conspiracy, there's a cogent message being developed, a punchy video being put together which will shift the Republicans back on the defensive.
But no, somebody's probably waiting to see what W will trot out today in his latest propaganda ploy. Too, the elections will be talked for days as yet another sign of progress and how things are getting better in Iraq.
Meanwhile, the President will continue to refuse to announce benchmarks, definite goals, or a timetable for leaving Iraq. Brilliant. If you refuse to create a yardstick, no one can accuse you of falling short - and you can always pick whatever marks you want as a sign of success. In the meantime, just keep giving the President a blank check and he'll get back to you.
Come on people! How 'bout a sign? Some least indication that somebody somewhere gets it, and has a plan for dealing with the GOP on this? At this rate, come 2006 the Democrats won't even be able to say the word Iraq without being laughed out of the room.
