Matt Drudge has the breaking news that the IM's surrounding Mark Foley and the Page scandal is all just a prank got awry when the IM's got into the hands of political opoeratives.
According to two people close to former congressional page (deleted name), the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, (he), a conservative Republican, goaded Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats. This source, an ally (of the page), also adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of (the page).
The news come on the heels that former FBI Chief Louis Freeh has been named to investigate the mess.
See.... it's just like Abu Ghraib when a few "bad apples" decided to have some fun with their prisoners. It was just like a "fraternity prank" (attributed to el Rushbo I think). And if those damn Democrats - who are just snivling conniving partisans intent on acquiring power and turning the country over to the terrists - hadn't gotten a hold of these IM's through some dasterdly nefarious means, the whole thing would have probably been brough up as a joke at the national press club and the country would have had a laugh at the pathetic life of that f*g of a congressman Foley.
[note - I smile every time I hear anything about this story as it seems so absurd, and so fitting to bring down the repugs. However there are so many more serious problems that it says something about how shallow we are as a country].
