This essentially a lame repost of a comment I made earlier today, but in a diary we can open it up to everyone across the country. Add your recommended
local progressive candidates in comments.
In Illinois there are several open state Senate seats where Republicans resigned and Dems are doing surprisingly well against GOP opponents. Illinois election law allows any US citizen to contribute political funds.
Peter Gutzmer (

Both of these districts have been Republican seats for as long as memory serves but Gutzmer and Kotowski have worked their tails off to earn endorsements and, more importantly, the trust of folks from both sides of the aisle. One, or both, are going to be great Congressmen, or Senators, or Governors... one of these days.
(In Illinois, there's no contribution limits, just name and occupation disclosures over $500.)
Let's build our bench! Name your local candidates worthy of 50 State Strategy support. (And check your state's election codes -- I don't want anyone to accidentally pull a Tom DeLay funding shenanigan.)
