Bush predicts Republican election victory despite Iraq war's political impact in US

WASHINGTON President George W. Bush acknowledged that the war in Iraq is having a political impact, but predicted Wednesday that voters will reward his Republican Party in next month's national elections for its stance on secruity and the economy.

The Iraq war is "tough on the American psyche," he said at a news conference in the Rose Garden, repeating a phrase he had used before.

"I believe the elections will be decided by security and the economy," Bush said just four weeks before the vote. He added that he expects his party will maintain control of both the House and the Senate in the Nov. 7 elections.

Yay! There's no doubt now.

Bush reiterated his support for Republican Dennis Hastert's handling of a scandal involving inappropriate Internet communications between Republican Congressman Mark Foley and former pages, teenagers appointed to run errands for lawmakers while Congress is in session. Bush said he does not think the scandal has undermined Hastert's credibility as a speaker of the House, the top position in that chamber.

"Denny's very credible as far as I'm concerned," he said.

  Even when every poll and every vote has indicated otherwise, Bush has been right when he made confident statements about victory.

  We have to take every race by a large enough margin so that all of the fraud and supression can't snatch it back.

  If Bush says they will hold the majority, you better be ready to fight for every vote to prove him wrong.

  he should he knew about the vote fraud that went on since 2000 on, incl. 2004.

  When the exit polls were leaked on that 2004 day showing a Kerry landslide, Bush was quoted as saying that he didn't believe the numbers and that after the votes were counted, he is confident he would win.

  That smug, shmuck knew then and now that the e-voting is all that counts, there's absolute no way that they control both houses after all the countless debacles and scandals that have gone on.

  He knows about vote rigging, Cheney know, the whole junta knows, that's why they keep doing what they're doing, they don't give an Flying F...  why should they?  most people don't want to accept that fact the elections are rigged in the good ol' USA.

  Wake up people, and be prepared to march on DC a la Ukraine, the Mexicans, and whoever else that took their democracy seriously.
