Amish School Recovery Fund

Thu Oct 12, 2006 at 09:49:40 PM PDT

Since we haven't had a diary on this in a spell and since the school was torn down today, I thought it'd be a good time to remind folks of where they can contribute to the recovery fund. This information comes to me from my Amish studies prof in college who is pretty much considered to be the authority on the Amish.

The Amish self-insure and even though the hospitals have waived some of the expenses, there will be rebuilding costs for the school, support for the family of the assailant (the Amish has extended support to the family), long-term care costs for the girls who survived and a host of additional expenses that the community will incur due to this event.

Even a small donation will be welcome so please consider showing your support to a community who epitomizes hard work, peace, and forgiveness.
