This is a very short diary.
As most of you are aware, the DHS has announced a new round of funding levels for anti-terrorism initiatives. To much media outrage here in NYC, and "outrage" likely feigned from our worthless and despicable elected Republicans Governor Pataki and Mayor Bloomberg, DHS slashed funding in NYC in favor of Red State cop-welfare projects.
It should come as no real surprise Bush isn't serious about fighting terror, but is indeed serious about stealing our money. There are multiple diaries today dealing with this issue.
But, what of a major daily newspaper here in NYC referring to police officers in places like Omaha, Nebraska as "Hicks in the Sticks," in a giant front-page headline?
Wouldn't this say a lot about elitist attitudes in Northeastern media towards the Heartland and South?
The answer is below the fold.
Well, of course, it would, "provided" ...
It would be the talking point of the day on Fox, with numerous interviews with hardworking local police officers and elected officials to denounce this attitude. Bill O'Reilly would lead his show with it.
... "provided" the newspaper wasn't the New York Post, owned by Rupert Murdoch, the Chairman of Fox Entertainment, the owner of Fox News.
Red State folk need to understand the precise attitudes their puppeteers hold of them.
