White House admits it has no clue in Iraq

This is going to be short and sweet, but ought to be highlighted big-time.   From comments today by WH Press Secretary Tony Snow:

Q: One on Iraq again. Sorry. Just the simple question: Are we winning?

MR. SNOW: We're making progress. I don't know. How do you define "winning"?

Good question, Tony. But don't you think you ought to be telling us the answer?  

Snow went on to spout the usual empty rhetoric about making Iraq into a "safe, secure ally", minus any concrete explanation of how we might get there beyond "stay the course".  His remark, in all its elegantly distilled Freudian stupidity, deserves to be held up for ridicule much like Bill Clinton's infamous "it depends on the meaning of 'is'" gaffe--because it perfectly captures the fundamental cluelessness that's landed us in the biggest fiasco since Vietnam.  

So, what constitutes "victory" in Iraq?  What's the noble cause Casey Sheehan and about 3000 others like him have died and continue to die for?  Your President and his Rubber-Stamp Republican Party aren't quite sure, beyond some nebulous mirage of a goal that's every bit as plastic as the Thanksgiving turkey he once served our troops in Baghdad, and about as hard to swallow.  

As we gather our families around the table this year, we find we've had quite enough of fake, faith-based foreign policy.  We'll have a generous helping of Reality and Accountability, please.  With gravy.

  he's not willing to tell?  I'm surprised he couldn't bring himself to tell the Basic Bush Lie from which all others flow: we are winning the War on Terra.

  Tag guidelines instruct that when names are used both the first and last names should be included and in cases like the George Bushes - the middle initials are essential.
