This is a very short diary, but one that many of us Kossacks must be asking in Ohio: what does one do with an absentee ballot once we receive it?
This year, for the first time, Ohio's instituted no-fault absentee voting (i.e., vote by mail). This is a great boon to Ohio Democrats, considering the horrifying lines at the polls in 2004! And I, like alot of volunteers, recently got my absentee ballot.
But now that it's filled out, what do I do to best assure the vote will be counted?
- Should I mail it in as instructed?
- Put it in the envelope and deliver it by hand to the Franklin County Board of Elections?
- Mail it certified mail?
- Try to turn the ballot in myself? (I think the BOE uses an electronic voting machine for in-person early voting, which I want to avoid at all costs).
Those who've voted by mail before, what's best to do?
