The Connecticut race for Senate just got a terrific turn-around with the performance of Alan Schlesinger (R-CT)in the debates. He is the 900-lb gorilla that crashed through the ceiling of the Stamford Marriott on Monday and tore up everything in his path. In the second debate he had less space for his tour de force performance because of the presence of two minor candidates, but Ned was so good that Matt Stoller's glowing assessment of an all new race with a Lamont victory because of the debates was justified.
Then the disastrous timing of the Q Polls today sucked out all the air of that victory balloon.
The Connecticut race for Senate just got a terrific turn-around with the performance of Alan Schlesinger (R- CT)in the debates. He is the 900-lb gorilla that crashed through the ceiling of the Stamford Marriott on Monday and tore up everything in his path. In the second debate he had less space for his tour de force performance because of the presence of two minor candidates, but Ned was so good that Matt Stoller's glowing assessment of an all new race with a Lamont victory-- because of the debates-- was justified.
Then the disastrous timing of the Q Polls today sucked out all the air of that victory balloon. The data was based on PRE-DEBATE findings, but the Q Poll was released AFTER the second debate. The general public will wrongly think that the debates had no value in turning around opinion--or worse, that after the debates, Ned Lamont's star plummeted!
To get the real story out, we have to work like fury to get Alan Schlesinger's voice heard in the mainstream media. The solid Republicans of CT, those no-coddling-of-illegal aliens, exasperated by those tax and spend liberals, need to know there is a real Republican in CT with a clear voice. Schlesinger is a brilliant orator. Will the mainstream media bring him on for an entertaining program? It is up to you to see it happens! Contact Scarborough, Matthews, Imus, O'Reilly.
Do know why you remember Lloyd Bentsen's words "You're no Jack Kennedy!" It was because it was played over and over again by the mainstream media. But the Connnecticut debates weren't even followed by local commentators after their local-only coverage. The big story never got out. This blog is famous for making local news national and the readers of this blog must carry on that work to make the real event of the CT debates--Alan Schlesinger's Republican option--heard by Connecticut voters. Get the word out!
