PA-07: My Neighbors JUST put up a Weldon Sign

What are they thinking?  OK, perhaps some people put up signs before all this stuff came out.  But now???  My god.  Open ass--insert head...

Yep, I was horrified when I got home this evening to see a brand new fresh Weldon for Congress sign in the lawn across the street from mine.

What goes through people's heads?  Yep.  The FBI is investigating him, raided his daughter's house and business.  Yep.  Better put up a sign.  Wouldn't want people to go have STANDARDS or anything.

I've got to admit.  We're not really friendly with our neighbors.  But I never thought they were this stupid.  They look normal enough.  They don't have two heads or just one big eye or anything.  

I spent a few hours canvassing for Sestak today.  Not very many people answered the door.  We had lists of Repubs and Indies.  There were santorum out there as well.  I think the santorum were paid.  They didn't seem nearly as motivated as we were.  The Santorum lit had a picture of him with his kids.  What must it be like to be Santorum's kid?  I can't imagine.

Anyway, the people we did talk to who were planning to vote for Weldon never phrased it that way.  They wouldn't say his name.  They just said they were Republicans and they were voting for Republicans.  Nobody said Weldon's name.  Nobody said, "I like Curt Weldon.  He's doing a good job."  I think this is bad news for Weldon.  Even his supporters weren't saying nice things about him.

Which brings me back to my neighbors.  What are they thinking?

    That's what happened to my Kerry signs in '04, repeatedly!  I had to resort to sneaky tactics to keep the thieves from stealing them.

    Someone even put a Bush/Cheney sticker over my Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker!

  Isn't there a comedian that has a schtick about how he wants to carry around signs that say "I'm stupid" (or something like that) and pass them out to people whenever they do something dumb?  His punchline is always, "Here's your sign."  Perhaps the signs would just be Weldon signs now.  "Here's your sign."

  Maybe, they have some viewpoint that you can politely counter. The ultimate test - to convince the neighbor to not only take down the Weldon sign, but to put up a Sestak sign!

  I'm going to assume that they were phonebanked by the campaign six weeks ago and they said, "sure, we'll put out a yard sign," and the campaign just got around to dropping it off, and may have even put it in the ground for them....

  I know I've made plenty of those "would you be willing to put out a yardsign?" calls.
