I have said that
I fear California will go RED in 2008 if crooked voting machines are not addressed.
My fear is GROWING, after I attended the CA Sec of State hearing on certifying Diebold (and other makes of) voting and tabulating machines in California.
A while ago, I wrote my CA state representative, Noreen Evans, about this issue. She tried to be reassuring, saying the new Republican SecState was approved 71-0 to create a cooperative atmosphere 'without political threat'.
I think they are really happy to not feel threatened. However, I am going to have to inform her that more attention must be focused on the issue.
There were several shennanigans pulled during the hearing I attended yesterday that were designed to limit the voice allowed to the public, who showed up in force.
I am curious as to whether technical methods of 'stealing democracy' has any interest here at Kos? I am not a 'fraudster', I am a computer programmer, but I heard and saw some things yesterday that were pretty scary.
Please comment on your interest, or lack thereof, in a long follow-up post.
