In a striking set of events, the popular liberal website "MyDD" has become to act slowly, at some points not even loading up at all! Liberal Blogger Matt Stoller has claimed that the Lieberman campaign has been hacking the website.
Check below the fold for the media's reaction.
At about 8 pm, Monday August 7th, the day before a primary that will decide the fate of Senator Joseph Lieberman (CT-D), the website, "MyDD" began to "slow down" and "not work properly". Later the next day, the site went down all together. According to liberal bloggers, this is foul play from the Lieberman side.
Chris Matthews immiediately called the bloggers on their bluff.
"Come on, just because there are errors with the website, without any proof, you automatically assumed it has been hacked. Come on, I would need physical proof before I reported something like that!"
Betty Winn on CNN also called foul.
"Couldn't it just be that there is a bandwith problem? I mean, having thoroghly looked through my sources, as is my job as a journalist, I found that there are many other explaintions."
Even Senator Ted Stevens (AK-R) commented on the situation.
"Come on, even I'M not that stupid!"
Finally, Sean Smith from the Lieberman campaign had a few words to add.
"To think that the Lamont campaign and its allies have stooped this low. This is one of the main reasons Lieberman needs to win. A good, honest Senator should never, and would never stoop to these lows, blaiming a simple hosting problem on his opponent. Our guy NEEDS to win!"
