Good morning all. On this glorious Sunday morning, I thought I'd share with you my first foray into YouTube. I've put together three videos, but they're all just slideshows. So, nothing spectacular - though I think one does work well...
Because of my employer's involvement in government regulation, employees are banned from any type of involvement in any political campaigns, without their express consent. I've managed to twist their arms for consent so I could donate to a couple of races, but I am allowed to do far little than I'd like to do. I cannot volunteer for phone banking. I cannot volunteer for canvassing. I cannot volunteer to distribute literature. I cannot even host one of those in-home meetings, if it is a candidate-approved event.
So, I've been trying to do what I can within those constructs, like trying to talk to friends and family... trying to not only get them to vote - and vote "the right way" - but encouraging them to get involved. Now, I'm working on a video-slideshow presentation for a family project. The software is new to me, so I wanted to practice with it a bit first. So, I decided to do so by throwing together a few political slideshows. They're just slideshows, not videos, so they're nothing too dramatic. But one turned out nice enough that I thought I'd share it via YouTube. Then I decided to share all three... I doubt any/many people will view these low quality productions and, therefore, have an impact on any voters. But, I felt that with my lack imvolvement otherwise, at least it was another way to voice my opinion.
So, here they are...
crossfire: http://www.youtube.com/... ...this one is both a tribute to our troops and a condemnation of those leaders who sent them off to Iraq. It is, in my opinion, the best of the three slideshows.
winds: http://www.youtube.com/... ...this video tries to be more upbeat about our future, as it is so easy to be negative right now, focusing on the politicians looking to enact this positive change. I should have included more imagery so that I could include more candidates and so that it would flow better. But, it is what it is - I tried to focus on Senate challengers (somehow, I forgot Casey!! ...but incumbents in a battle - like Menendez - were intentionally omitted). At the end, I also make my 2008 preference obvious. :-)
badboys: http://www.youtube.com/... ...this one is the worst of the three, in my opinion - a disjointed cacophony of corruption. Sorry, the Republicans give us far too much material to work with. In fact, once I finished this mess of a slideshow, I still had about 20-30 images on the "cutting room floor" I'd regretted not including.
I never ask to be rec'ed and if you don't like the slideshows, please don't rec me just because I'm asking - don't encourage others to view the garbage. But if you do like them, I am asking to be rec'ed, so that more people will see them. Thanks & I hope everyone has a fine Sunday.
