Well, I came across an excellent video on You Tube which sums up my feelings very well on American democracy 2006. Millions of Americans, myself included, are convinced that the election of 2006 is about to be stolen. The national Democratic party had 2 years to develop a plan after the 2004 Ohio debacle, but the inside the beltway boys were too comfortable playing the old political game of lobbyist gifts and junkets and "statesmenship" like "collegiality" with their Republcian "colleagues" in the US Senate. Only John Conyers and the congressional black caucus took voter fraud and suppression seriously. Robert Kennedy Jr. tried raising the alarm with several articles in Rolling Stone, but received little if any attention in the mainstream media.
So much has already been diaried about the problems with Diebold and ES&S and their CEO's partisan ties to the Republican party. We have outsourced our democracy and its most sacred functions-the administration and counting of the votes, to private companies who have a vested interest in continuiing the Republican chokehold on our nation. The machines have no transparency, the votes are counted without impartial observation, and are extremely open to hacking and manipulation, without leaving a smoking gun.
We have sold out our democracy in America. The polls are looking good for us, but if the polls were what counted we would be either in Gore's second term right now or John Kerry's first term.
Here is a stunning and heartbreaking video about voter fraud that I came across on You Tube, we all need to watch it:
