ACTION ITEM: Ask Boxer to FIGHT Lieberman Corruption

Fri Oct 27, 2006 at 03:49:49 PM PDT

We're continuing our campaign to get the word out to Senator Boxer about the importance of making a stand against the "culture of corruption" Lieberman has brought to Connecticut.

PLEASE HELP US - by writing an email or a fax of your own. If you don't have time for that, please call Boxer's senate office (number below) and let her know what you think. Today I've included a copy of the fax I'm sending to Boxer's offices. Please feel free to use it as the basis for a fax/email of your own!

Sample Letter and contact info after the jump...

Dear Senator Boxer:

We're very concerned about Joe Lieberman's unlawful use of a $387,000 "petty cash" slush fund to undermine the democratic process in Connecticut. Lieberman's slush fund is a glaring example of the kind of DC corruption that Democrats are supposed to be fighting. We have contributed generously to your "PAC For A Change" in the past, and we believe Lieberman's illegal campaigning is exactly the kind of DC corruption you should fight against now. Democrats must not tolerate Lieberman's slush fund, lest we ourselves become complicit in destroying American democracy.

We are aware that you inexplicably campaigned with and supported Lieberman in the Connecticut democratic primary. Ms. Boxer, we must tell you that in light of this and the revelations about Lieberman's illegal slush fund, it looks absolutely terrible for you to be sitting on the fence in the general election now. You need to make a statement - you need to show Americans that you're against the "culture of corruption" by campaigning with Lamont in Connecticut. Lamont is running a strong campaign, and that race is winnable. This is a huge opportunity and all Americans - especially you - stand to gain enormously from the defeat of one of Washington's most corrupt and dishonest entrenched incumbents.

Go to Connecticut and campaign with Lamont. Support him in any way you can. If you do, you can count on our continued support and eternal gratitude.

Yours Sincerely,
name withheld

that a Florida voter, voting early, voted for Nelson and it was rejected and switched to harris.  He was mad and asked the machine be shut down.  The repubs are going to steal another election.  This election result needs to be challenged.  Get the paper work ready and file it after harris wins.

could pay Ned a visit, too.

He found time to campaign for GW Liberman during the primary.

McCain just flushed his own campaign by his appearance at the FBF on Aug 16th, 2008.

I am a regular poster on DailyKos, and a few other widely seen blogs; as a strong supporter of progressive Democratic values, I believe that you also want to forward these ideas.

I defended your right to make a decision to support Joe Lieberman during the primary in Connecticut. Even though I disagreed with your position, you had every right to support Lieberman during the primary season.

I am now asking that you consider showing your support for the Democratic Nominee in that Senate race, Ned Lamont.

I am concerned that after this election cycle, the Senate may consist of a 49 Democrats, one Independent {Bernie Sanders - who is perfectly acceptable to me}, and one other 'Democrat'.

This other 'Democrat' is one who insisted upon supporting Bill Frist in his attempt to have the Federal Government intrude upon the private family matters of Michael and Terri Schiavo, and who has steadfastly supported the awful foreign policies of the Bush administration.

I am concerned that Democrats may win the battle for the Senate, and yet lose the war.

Please consider supporting Ned Lamont, and help push forward progressive values in our country.
