Just thinking about this article and I can't help but wonder what''s behind it. Not behind the terrorist warning..but the part of the article that mentions how Ridge brushed aside comments about how this is going to "affect" the Republican Convention.
Could they use this "explicit" threat as means to move the convention at the last minute to some other more "friendly" city? After all the article states that the main fuction is merely to officially nominate Bush . Or could they possibly and I do admit this would be remote....cancel altogether in an attempt to make him seem "presidential" and doing his job...or would it be a ploy to create even greater buffer zones around The Garden..and move the protesters even further away. In other words they may attempt to remove protestors from the convention site by issuing bogus terror threats.
I'm also in agreement with the poster above who suggested that Al Queida likes to strike where least expected..the chatter HS picked up could merely be a decoy for something else....but then, I write movies for a living ..or it's easy for me to go there.
