Shut up about Karl Rove!

Sat Oct 28, 2006 at 03:43:56 PM PDT

I've had it with the quaking-in-the-boots, what's Karl going to do next, Diebold stole the election whining. Karl Rove is a sharp political operative of the Lee Atwater school, but he is not a God. He says things to influence his Republican base, and to get the media to notice. And he tries to spook the opposition into believing that their efforts will be in vain. Karl Rove has no "secret plan" to sentence Saddam to death on November 5, or capture Osama bin Laden, or hack the election machines, or send an army of mutant fundamentalists to double our GOTV efforts. He's just another sad, cynical operative whose supposed "genius" gave us Terri Schiavo, Social Security Privatization, keeping Don Rumsfeld, and pledging to stay the course when the country abandoned Bush on the war.
I want each and every Kossite to stop whining about Karl Rove and stolen elections. The polls look very good for us - historically good. But we have to make those national numbers play out in the districts and states where good Democratic candidates are trying to advance a progressive agenda. Volunteer, put up signs, make calls, convince some friends to vote...anything.

And stop buying into all these crap about stolen elections because it will only dampen turnout on our side. There are real problems with the election process in this country. But the more we raise a stink about them BEFORE THE ELECTION, the more likely some voters will throw up their hands, stay home, and say that their vote won't count anyway. You want to play into Karl Rove's hands? Then continue to whine about cheap and tawdry GOP dirty tricks or rigged election machines. But if you want to beat Karl Rove and end the Republican assault on America then you need to get to work, keep your eye on the prize, and act with full confidence that the people will take back Washington.

with stories about "the end of an era", the "Rovian strategy finally fails" etcetera, ad nuaseum.  Except I won't get sick, I'll be too busy giggling.

I just read an article that stated how African Americans are so discouraged about voting after their experiences in elections since 2000 that many aren't going to vote. To quote an oft cited quote, the way to make sure your vote doesn't get counted is not to cast it. Besides many wars have been fought to preserve my freedoms, among them the right to vote. African Americans have one more added reason. Rosa Parks, MLK, etc fought a battle just for their rights. GOTV

Barack Obama - I'll never see the threat of terrorism as a way to scare up votes, it's a threat that should rally this country against our common enemies

I'll shut up about the immoral, criminal, illegal
Carl Rove when he is gone, and I'll shut up about
Diebold when we vote on hardcopy-verifiable ballots,
whether electronic or not, and get honest elections.
Kerry won two years ago, you do know, don't you?
It was the crooked dirty tricks in Ohio that cost
him that vote, and to Kerry's everlasting dis-credit
he could not be bothered to follow it out.
Next time I want a real Fighter!
    Who will that be?

gum at the same time, so I can work the polling place for 14-16 hours, take notes on the numbers voting in that place, donate thousands to Dems all over the country, get all my friends and family to vote absentee, as I did, put signs in my windows, on my lawn and my car and be prepared to take to the streets, surround government buildings and refuse to leave when Diebold and ES&S fraud machines do KKKarl Rove's bidding and the polls close, with masses of Dems voting the bums out, only to be "counted" in favor of just enough Rethuglicans to keep both houses of Congress.

Then, my fellow kossacks, it's the Blue Revolution and they'd better leave quietly because we're through with their lies and their "only the vote count matters" slogan when they steal elections.

There is no other way they can "win" with their own base abandoning them.  Even conservatives are yelling for a Dem Congress to put the brakes on these criminals.  Even Evangelicals are saying stay away from the polls.  They don't have the support so there will be no other explanation for them keeping control other than they stole it.  With the help of KKKarl f'ng Rove, may he dance in the flames of hell forever!  And we'd better be ready to take to the streets, or lick the boots of our Rethuglican masters for a long, long time.

it serves this country to ignore the elephant that's sitting on our polling places.  80% of our polling places have Diebold & ES&S machines, owned by Rethuglicans, in place and I predict the glitches alone caused by these machines will discourage millions of voters and the rest of the voters will learn soon enough how their votes tallied out when the polls close.

We owe it to this country to be prepared for what KKKarl has in mind, which is to keep absolute power.  He's "the architect" remember?  He's made the plans and he tells a journalist that he has the only "polls" that matter.

Forewarned is forearmed.  Let's not be stupid and ignore this bastard or dismiss him.  Let's be ready for him and take him the f down!

  •  I'll shut up about him... (5+ / 0-)

being a lying, cheating, evildoing, fascist, when he apologizes for all that he's done.

  •  You think playing in a rigged game is going to... (0+ / 0-)

    ...achieve a damned thing?

The Republican Party delivers nothing to the vast majority of their thier grass roots support but rhetorical victories and increasing poverty and the Democratic Party is not much better, at the national level, than a mirror image that did nothing for majority of their grass roots supporters for years; that's why they, as Reagan Democrats, voted for Reagan on stayed home; they got zip from the "peoples party". The Democrat and Republican politicians are in the majority funded by the same big corporate interests some 60-40 to for one side and others the opposite direction. The current system is hopelessly corrupt, institutionalized, unwilling and/or unable to alter its course and needs to be brought down by whatever means are necessary.

I’m sick of pack of greedy pig’s lackeys (politicos) making promises they never intend to fulfill and selling the working people of this country out.  I’ve enjoyed about all of this attempted consensus creation by a ruling elite which is nothing but a political dog and pony show designed as an opiate to dull the pain of economic opportunely and rights being ripped away so that elite and their running dogs(a small minority) can gain possession of most of the national wealth. It is time for a no compromise, (you can’t bargain with people whose honor and word is worthless and it is foolish to try to,) revolution and if you don't agree you are the enemy or a damned fool.

Not too many years will pass before most of you will agree with me and those years will add shackles that will be harder to break. I don’t buy into a choice that is between Big Brother and his alter ego Emmanuel Goldstein...And I wish to G-d this were a melodramatic rant.
