Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite needs to be included in the Ethics Committee investigation.  She has been very good friends with Mark Foley for years since they have the "same ideology." She has received campaign money from Mark Foley (not to mention Abramoff, Cunningham, and DeLay).  She claims that Mark Foley was a teetotaler but then later recanted that she knew he went to the page dorms in drunken state.  Brown-Waite claimed that she performed her "own investigation" and obtained information from first-hand sources.

What did she know?  Why didn't she tell anybody? What kind of investigation did she perform? What makes her qualified to perform this investigation? She needs to be questioned under oath!

Please read below:

Foley has never been an alcoholic, she said. In fact, she used to joke with him about being "a cheap date."
"I have seen Mark take a drink of wine that he nurses all night long," she said. "I never saw him inebriated, never saw him even close, never saw him slur a word."

First the Congresswoman states that her good friend Foley never drinks"....

Then she later said this:

Last month, before the Foley scandal broke, Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite, R-Fla., also learned about the dormitory incident, which she said she was told about from firsthand sources.

So, Congresswoman, was he a teetotaler or just a binge drinker who makes visits to the page dorms?

Questions I want to know: Why didn't you report about Foley's dorm visit when you found out about the page incident?  Did you tell Jeb Bush?? Is he covering up too? What is more important to you, the reputation of a Republican or the safety of underage pages?

Congresswoman Waite, HOW did you conduct your investigation?  Who did you speak with?  What makes you qualified to conduct your own personal investigation?  Do you have a background in criminal justice?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

    Thanks for this diary.

Brown-Waite, like many Republicans, has no credentials for any kind of public service.  Makes you wonder about the people who would vote for her.

Republicans like Brown-Waite like to talk tough about accountability and then run and hide from it when they are to be held to account.

Has she been protecting a predator?  Let's find out.
