Who Wants to Go to New Orleans?

Tue Oct 03, 2006 at 10:29:42 AM PDT

I'm planning on organizing an earth-healing project in New Orleans next year, perhaps in the spring.  Do any of you Kossacks want to have a meetup there and perhaps do some volunteer work to help out the city?  I know there are some of you who are disappointed that YearlyKos won't be in New Orleans.  This would be an opportunity to help the people there with our business and do something constructive.  If you're interested, you can email me at feministsupervixens ( AT) yahoo.com.

What we need is a calender, where we can have a schedule of what's going on when, for meetups and stuff.

I'd love to pop over to help.

I've got a Vegas function to go to, and now YK07, but I'd love to help out.

    particularly if it's around Jazzfest.

I wish I had spent more time there this past spring, and I would like to do something. We cannot forget the City That Care Forgot. (Did Bush change his name to "care"?)

  •  I'm planning my 2007 Calendar (0+ / 0-)

my job requires me to be at statewide quarterly meetings (since I more or less write the agenda book for it) so I plan most things around that. End of August and September are out.

  •  Solar Barnraisings? (0+ / 0-)

I wish people were doing solar barnraisings and guerrilla energy conservation actions.  We need to start getting prepared for the next hurricane, the next disaster because it sure is clear the present government isn't interested in doing it.  Rebuilding the Gulf Coast green is probably a very good idea.

but unless Dad's house sells SOON (he's put it ont he market), I dont' even know where we'll be living--maybe under a bridge or an overpass (the car's out becasue it's dead and parked in MIL's driveway, which would mean the sis-in-laws and the neices woudl be forced to see us if we resided int he 16 year old Celica).
