Rethug Ads Just Got Nastier.

Mon Oct 30, 2006 at 06:49:34 PM PDT

Charles Taylor's ads against Health Shuler in NC-11 just got nastier.

For the past several weeks, Taylor's campaign has been running a classic negative ad campaign -- "Put the Liberals in Charge". This campaign attempts to link Heath Shuler with Nancy Pelosi and was focused on such issues as taxation.

Tonight, it got much worse.

I'm just listening to the TV while working, but I heard the ad come up and thought "not this crap again." But it WASN'T the same crap. It was different crap.

Now, if you vote for Heath Shuler and "Put the Liberals in Charge", you're voting for the following:
-- Gay marriage
-- Abortion on demand
-- Increased taxes for married couples
-- And a couple of other things I don't recall

It's desperation time in the Taylor camp. They're touching all of the classic Rethug talking points.

All I can say is...ick.

How about, 'Abortion on request.'  Is that OK?

Let's just say that the ad is aimed squarely at those with less than the normal number of front teeth.

  •  That is especially funny since... (0+ / 0-)

From everything I've seen and read about Mr Shiler, if he ever moved to a place like San Fran and tried to run as a Dem, he would have his ass handed to him in the primary... He is FAR too conservative for such places, and if not for his populist streak, could almost be considered a DINO type candidate.

His opponent must be a truly depserate wingnut to be levelled such openly blatant lies. Lucky for him, political speech is very loosely regulated... If this occurred in the business world, he would likely be getting sued right about now.
