To add insult to injury, Rush Limbaugh is now
claiming
On Limbaugh's Web site, the radio host claims that a web video that appears to show him mocking Fox's Parkinson symptoms was altered by TV stations.
"In the process of describing it, I began to illustrate what I had seen. I almost find myself doing it here. It is a natural tendency. We've got a camera in here, and I try to illustrate for people when I have the ability, when people are watching this program," said Limbaugh.
"Some networks have sped it up to try to enhance the spastic-like nature of it. They are all saying that I was 'mocking, making fun of. How low will Limbaugh go now and next? This is unconscionable.' It is absurd and ridiculous for them to make this charge that I would make fun of somebody in this circumstance," Limbaugh said.
The image below I created by using
the video that was hosted at Crooks and Liars a few days ago. The video was shown on Keith Olbermann's Countdown and included Rush's own ditto cam.
Essentially, Rush is saying his own studio webcam is lying by saying it was then altered by others.
The only altering done here is because of it being a shoddy job at making a gif but otherwise, it's in relatively full speed motion taken right from the Olbermann clip. It's probably not perfect but I didn't do anything to alter this aside from improperly make a .gif file by splitting the video into clips and then converting them to .gifs themselves, instead of just layering the jpegs and then converting the entire thing to one .gif. The psychedelic appearance is the result of creating the .gif out of a series of .gifs.
Either way, it's effectively the same speed.
Anything to avoid accountability, I suppose, huh?
If the picture is loading slowly (as it is on this particular computer I'm on, let me know and I'll substitute it with this link and remove the image itself.
NOTE: As lysias and Rasputin point out, if the clip had been sped up in any way, so would the audio. Yet anyone who watches the clip can clearly see and hear Rush speaking normally (for what that's worth) and doing his little impersonation of MJ Fox.
