Today, Elon College (NC)
released a poll taken last week in North Carolina's 11th Congressional District. Earlier today,
southerphilosopher wrote a diary including the main results of the poll, namely that incumbent Rep. Charles Taylor (R) is in trouble.
But the Elon poll also has some interesting buried information which gives an indication of just how disillusioned voters are in traditionally GOP areas. And the voters of the NC-11, as a demographic block, are not terribly different from the voters of Eastern Tennessee where Bob Corker hopes to draw his primary support.
From the Elon poll:
Is the country on the right direction?
Right direction: 20%
Wrong direction: 72%
Do most members of Congress deserve to be re-elected?

No: 68%
