THE CHECK IS IN THE MAIL: PRYCE CAMPAIGN DINES AND DASHES ON BILL AT MADISON COUNTY RESTAURANT; EATERY LATER FORCED TO CLOSE
Today, the Kilroy for Congress campaign released a statement about a letter to the editor submitted by the former owner and operator of Buckley's Restaurant in London, OH. The restaurant was used by Deborah Pryce for Congress for a campaign function, and the $150 bill wasn't paid until it was too late to save the small business from closing.
According to the owner the late $150 bill was the "straw that broke my back."
"This may be a good lesson for Deborah Pryce. Here in Central Ohio, if you don't pay your bills there are consequences," Scott Kozar, campaign manager for Kilroy for Congress, said. "We don't quite have the 'storybook economy' Pryce seems to think we have. There are people in the 15th Congressional District living paycheck to paycheck. There are small businesses that need every penny they get to stay in business. Deborah Pryce does not understand that, and that is obvious by her actions in this situation.
"This sure wasn't Signatures, Jack Abramoff's restaurant, that could afford to give away expensive meals to yield influence over powerful friends," Kozar said. "I guess Pryce has been in Washington so long she doesn't know the difference anymore."
