Iraq Casualties Equal to 911 Casualties

Thu Oct 05, 2006 at 06:09:46 PM PDT

According to the website Iraq Casualty Count there have now been 2738 Americans killed in Iraq.

According to Wikipedia (best source I could find at the moment) this is the same number of Americans that were killed as a result of the September 11 attacks.

I think this is something that people should be following up.  Incidentally, as to the question of total casualties including non-Americans, there can be no doubt that Iraq is the bigger disaster by far because it includes all of the Iraqi casualties.  Even if one does not include the civilians, the new Iraqi army and police have lost thousands.  Recall that during the debates, Cheney was very big on stressing the sacrifices of the Iraqis themselves.  The result of this is that by any reasonable measure, George Bush is now responsible for the deaths of as many Americans and many many more people than was Osama Bin Laden.  I think we ought to make an issue of this.

  •  A Sad Number... (0+ / 0-)

    whatever the count is.

There is really no meaning to comparing these two numbers.

This is CLASS WAR, and the other side is winning.

But Bush has managed to kill as many of our fine young men and women with his war in error as Osama did with his attack.

May he burn in hell for his war crimes.

it's a sad milestone.  I knew the moment it started this day would come.  Didn't buy the lies.  Saddam was no threat.  There were no WMD.  There was no al Queda connection.

    None at all.

And I knew that they wouldn't stop until there were more US soldiers dead than all those who died on 9-11.

And I knew we would loose and that sooner or later whatever puppet government we established would collapse in Civil War and turn into a breeding ground for violent extremists who would hate us for a very good reason- we invaded their country and killed a lot of them for no reason at all.

Didn't quite figure on the billions of dollars of corruption and the looting of the museums though I should have.  I knew we would never get the oil but I didn't forsee the blackouts and gas lines.

So thanks a lot for everything W, you and your band of torturing corrupt pederasts.

more than that. 400+ American civilian contractors have been killed and 4000 wounded. They are not counted as military casualities but yet they still at the end of the day, dead americans in IRAQ. So in reality we are over 3000 dead there....

Generals gathered in their masses Just like witches at black masses.. Evil minds that plot destruction Sorcerers of deaths construction..........

I'm ashamed to say I hadn't even thought of them.  Also I think there have been US government employees (probably CIA and Pentagon mostly) that have been killed.  All of this with no end in sight and no obvious benefit to either America or Iraq.

I don't remember much of my college calculus class, since I never passed it. But here's a math problem apparently only Bush thinks he can solve...

At what number do we apporach the limit where these brave Americans have no longer died in vain?

To call Bush a lying sack of shit would be to slander idle bags of fertilizer.
