(202) 224-2823

Fri Oct 06, 2006 at 10:02:40 AM PDT

Now that Lieberman has come out in support of the enablers of child predation, I'm really pissed.

I just called Chris Dodd, the Senior CT senator to express my concern that Lieberman seems to care a lot more about Denny Hastert than the safety of our children.

I pleaded with his office to provide visible, vocal support for the Democrat in this race, and to campaign with Lamont.

Please, if you can spare a moment, make a quick call yourself, especially if you're in CT.  It really will help.

Once again, the number is (202) 224-2823.  Please ask Senator Dodd to stand up for what's right.

Office aide says: Obama is "supporting Lamont".

I am now on hold, in the middle of asking about campaigning with Lamont...

OK - the aide thinks it's a good idea for Obama to go to CT, but thinks he may not because Lamont is "too far down in the polls to matter".

    Isn't that great?

Now how's THAT for supporting the Democratic nominee?

    Thanks for nothing, Senator Obama...

    •  Obama is not...... (0+ / 0-)

Going to stick his neck out for Ned if he sees him as a loser because it will sully one of the most carefully crafted political careers ever seen...namely his own.

Superstars only back winners...or perceived winners.

      Sad but true.

      All flash, no substance.

I have lost a great deal of respect for him...I did have a lot of hope that he would be a dynamic addition to the Democratic Party, but he seems to be just one of the better-packaged self-absorbed run-of-the-mill politicos.

Time to look elsewhere for real leadership.

        •  Late reply - sorry - real life happens.. (0+ / 0-)

I just perhaps set the bar so high for him that it would be impossible to meet the expectations, but given his brilliant speech at the Convention, and the star power he has, I sure did expect to see or hear him in the forefront on major issues, and from where I am, I have heard little to nothing.  I know he's a Senate "Noob", but still, I'd like to have had him backing up Lamont in CT (supporting the real Democrat) - on the war, the Constituional battles that have been ongoing - on any of the big issues (and there have been so many the past two years!)  I just really feel that he's seemed to have said and done so little, it is a huge disappointment.

To be sure, a lot depends on what gets reported in the media, but I still hear and see so little of a figure I hoped to hear and see quite often.  He may be a bit of a late bloomer in the halls of the Senate, I sure still have hope that he can be the Senator I'd hoped he would be.  (I never want to give up hope.)

and he's after  Cheney in the line of succession?  Hastert can't administer 100 Representatives and the children under his nose and he should potentially be the one to provide security to the nation?!  And LieBUSHman is defending this?

    O U T R A G E O U S !

Every real Democrat in the government should be keeping up the drumbeat that LieBUSHman must go!

She has the classiest accent I've heard when calling a politician's office. A Connecticut thing?
