AZ-08 is Done

Fri Oct 06, 2006 at 09:52:03 PM PDT

The Race for AZ-08 is now done. The political perfect storm that the Democrats are using is getting the job done. CQPolitics moved the race from No Clear Favorite to Democratic Favored. As the RCCC has left the race the DCCC will be able to spend on more competitive races across the country. The RCCC is doing the Democrats a favor by conceding what should have been a long hard race.
For the full story click here.
For every race the RCCC lets go, we can have two. One that the leave, and one where we increase spending. Unless they pull out because THEY have won.

(Sorry for the short post, I'm canvassing for Kirsten E. Gillibrand in NY-20 in the morning. I Need the sleep)

  •  actually it would be better if they would spend (0+ / 0-)

I wish the NRCC would pour money into this seat. the DCCC would have to spend nothing, and the seat would still be won

Gabrielle Giffords is on the air with a great ad (see it at Youtube) that hits all the right notes, while Republican/Minuteman Randy Graf counters with his typical xenophobia (See it here, then hide the children!). Fear the gathering hoardes at the border! They could be terrorists! You don't know that they're not!

The NRCC has an ad too (here), but it never mentions Graf - instead, it hits Giffords on tax cuts. Yeah. Tax cuts (pssst, NRCC, spend more on ads like this).

Never, EVER take anything for granted. It may look good now, but letting the other guy come up for air only gives him another breath!

    •  And then there's the Graf ad, (0+ / 0-)

the one provided by Ed Helms at the Daily Show a few years ago, when Graf was in the AZ Legislature. It's here. The "Rules of Golf" discussion is beyond surreal. It's more than mind-boggling to think of this whack-job as a congressman.

“The Republican Party has 60 different ways to help a candidate. They took one of the 60 ways,” he said, referring the party’s canceled spending in the district, “and sent it somewhere else for the moment.”

Cancelling spending is helping a candidate, like how bombing civilians is making them free, or like how allowing polluters to pollute freely is helping the environment, and how ignoring the 9-11 commission is making us safer, and how breeding more terror is winning the GWOT, all of which are like how covering for a 52-year old congressman's habit of enjoying the companionship of 16- and 17-year-old boys is being protective of children.

Is it just me or is there a pattern present of the GOP doing gratuitously shitty things and then saying they're wonderful?
