There are heroes among us. There are Kossacks who've stretched beyond the choir, and made significant contributions to the street.
East Fallowfield suggested recognizing a member of our community as Kossack of the Week.
I firmly believe that dKos is only as strong as our actions in the 'outside world.' I suggest we take nominations from the floor, as it were, to celebrate significant contributions to the larger political culture.
A few suggested ground rules:
- No sitting elected officials, even if they are regular contributors to dKos. We need to build our bench. Elected officials are, generally, heroes already.
- Nominations may be made during the week, with honors on Friday? or the next Monday?
- Qualifying actions or contributions could range from the humane (donating an organ, tutoring a child) to the political (running for office, doorknocking an entire precinct) to the journalistic (getting a scathing LTE published), etc...
- MUST BE A REGISTERED MEMEBR OF DAILYKOS.
- Any rules I missed?
Markos is obviously the original Kossack in Courage, for absolutely nailing his Q&A interview.
I'd like to nominate Mike Stark for taking it to Rush and the RWNJ airwaves.
Who's your nominee for Kossack in Courage?
