There are plenty of things not to like about the reactionary named
Rusty Duke who is running for Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, not the least of which is the fact that he's a homophobic theocrat.
But few people know he's also a likely plagiarist.
Here's what Duke says about his judicial philosophy on his own campaign website.
"Through judicial activism the most important moral, political, and cultural decisions affecting our lives are steadily being removed by the courts from the democratic process."
And here's what one of America's most notorious conservative judges, Robert Bork, wrote:
"The most important moral, political, and cultural decisions affecting our lives are steadily being removed from democratic control." Robert H. Bork, Our Judicial Oligarchy, First Things 67 (Nov. 1996) 21-24.
Is this an example of a couple of misguided monkeys hitting random keys on a typewriter and coming up with the same exact words? Or has Mr. Duke stolen this language from Judge Bork without attribution and posted it on his campaign website as his own?
Care to explain yourself, Rusty Duke?
