I haven't been around much. I've been a bit busy, but I have a moment here while campaign manager is picking up volunteers at the Beacon train station and rounding up lipris to come to the HQ.

Beacon 1So...a state senate race comes down to the last weekend. I'm tired, but enthused. I'm nervous, but confident. I'm encouraged and humbled.

The people who have rallied to this state race in the Hudson Valley are amazing. Lipris has been here for weeks, mindoca is heading up here tomorrow, am is campaign leader and glevine is the best campaigner I've ever seen. BCM is doing driving duties and we had Larry in NYC drive up a car load last weekend. We have an army of about ten heading up to canvass this weekend....

and...we've raised about 100k for this first time candidate in a sleepy district to run against a 26 year Albany fixture.

This is truely People Powered, and I personally am so moved by the outpouring of effort by everyone involved.

Whatever happens Tuesday, this is be a life defining experience, and if anyone in the future asks you to join a campaign like ours, JUMP AT THE CHANCE. You will not regret it.

Lipris will be blogging this weekend, I'm sure, as he will be on Tuesday night.

I just wanted to drop in and give everyone a HUGE thank you and thumbs up before this, the final push. We have made you proud.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
