Breaking on MSNBC Hardball, Congressman Bob Ney from Ohio has just resigned in the fallout of the Abramoff scandal.
The hits just keep coming.
Is there anything else that could happen in the Friday news dump?
- NYT reports that the Republicans posted the instructions to make an atomic bomb online for the last several months
- The President of the Evangelicals admits to having bought meth from a gay prostitute that he called for a "massage."
- and now Bob Ney resigns.
Edited to note that "E-Voting" is also front-page news after the documentary, "Hacking Democracy" on HBO last night. It was front page of MSNBC.com and is now being featured on Hardball and Lou Dobbs.
What a week.
Updated to include link: Congressional Quarterly.
Link fixed, but I still apologize for the sloppy diary.
And I'd like to add that after thinking about the timing of this, do you think they are just throwing Ney under the bus right now to distract from the incredibly damaging story of Republicans putting the directions to an atomic bomb online? They been running around like peacocks claiming they were the party of national security. I think they are so damn scared that they will be exposed as phonies on security because it's all they have left. They've already been proven to be phony conservatives, phony on being the party of accountability, phony on moral values. This could be the straw that breaks the camels back. What's a little Bob Ney under the bus to distract from the story that could really lead to their demise?
