Everything you need to know about Karl Rove can be summed up in the follwing anecdote:

A former college classmate of mine made a few dollars and like most self absorbed millionaires turned to politics. Unfortunately for him he also decided to embrace the Republican party, thinking that in the small, decidedly Democratic state he lived in that would put him on the map. In 2000, he was one of 50 state campaign chairman for Bush, a title that earned him the privilege of listening to Karl Rove's weekly update and the Monday before the 2000 election here's what Rove said:
"We'll carry 36 states and win the popular vote by six percentage points."
In the ensuing maelstrom of vote fraud and confusion, I asked my Republican friend about this inaccuracy. His response:
"Oh, that was just spin."
Totally matter of fact. No irony or sense of humor. A couple more examples of Rove's pathology. On Election Night 2000, when the networks called Pennsylvania and Florida early for Gore, Rove began screaming on the air live that the networks were wrong. Too bad they were right in PA, and right in FL, except 200,000 votes were never counted.
And after the first Kerry-Bush debate in 2004, check out the tape of Karl Rove proclaiming that George W. Bush actually won the debate, a laughable claim that only crooked corporate mainstream media would still continue to postulate.
What Karl Rove says has no basis in reality. When he talks about access to the "Real Numbers", we should know the numbers he means. If the Democratic party wins 50 seats in Congress and 8 seats in the Senate, he'll still claim victory. This election will brand Karl Rove as a carnival barker worthy of PT Barnum.
Tomorrow is Pat Tillman's birthday.
