I struggled with the idea that going to services this past Sunday might be seen as disingenuous or perhaps even a little desperate by any possible all knowing presence that might possibly occupy the universe.
But some good friends talked me out of it with a quaint quote from our dear Douglas Adams who said "DON'T PANIC" but other than that he actually said that if by asking the question it shows some form of faith. And that I can place an unfaltering belief in. The possibilities - and those I believe are endless.
As such... I have no qualms about posting for us all tomorrow A Prayer for the Progressives
A prayer for the progressive
Father, we come to you today united together under your watchful eye and your guiding hand. We have joined together to fight as one for peace, for people, and for progress all in the name of honesty, of humanity, and of truth.
On this important day for our nation, God, please let our minds be mighty for they are bright with possibilities, let our mouths be quick for they speak truth, and let our hearts be pure for they guide our soul toward promise.
Bless our candidates as they stand strong for justice. Bless our incumbents who lead with loyalty. And most importantly bless our staffers and activists who work hard, long, tireless hours for little pay but loaded with passion.
God, we know what is right by you, and we know what will continue to work for true freedom and actual democracy. Please, continue to guide us toward victory so we my guide this nation back toward the birthright of its people: - Liberty.
Amen.
And let us not forget, dear friends, that WE are indeed on the side of the angels. We're all in it together - lets knock em dead tomorrow.
And once more... perhaps for the last and final time I once more want to support my top two
Senator Debra Bowen and Nancy Boyda. Two great women who will be infinitely better than their republican counter parts as I'm sure the many many other candidates I have not listed but I indeed support.
